The Settle-Carlisle Rail Special Offer is back for 2011-2012!

Metro has teamed up once again with Northern Rail to promote a special winter rail offer from Leeds to Settle-Carlisle and to Lancaster-Morecambe.

The offer starts on 5th December 2011 and ends on 23rd March 2012.  It excludes the half term holiday from 11 February to 19 February inclusive.

The day return ticket costs only £9 for holders of any adult Bus-only MetroCard, Student Plus MetroCard or Bus & Rail MetroCard (any zone, including Rail Cards 6& 7) for travel any day of the week.  This year, there is a special £4 flat fare for each child (upto 4 children under 16) travelling with one adult on a MetroCard/Rail Zone ticket.

The £9 day return ticket is also available to all Metro-issued English National Concessionary Pass holders, including their companion aged over 11 if their pass has the companion symbol.  ENCP holders can travel any time Monday to Friday only.

Ticket to ride on the Settle-Carlisle / Lancaster-Morecambe railway routes

The fabulous scenery on the Settle-Carlisle and Lancaster-Morecambe railway routes is truly breathtaking.  Enjoy the outstanding views from the train... as well as the refreshment trolley service with its homemade flapjacks, cakes and biscuits!  The train stops off at some beautiful places along the route with great countryside to explore, shops & cafés to enjoy and castles and museums for the history enthusiasts amongst us.
